I am back at the drawing board putting together a new fitness routine and hitting the weights. Don’t worry, I still stay in great shape and always ready to photoshoot. In fact I just finished a week of shoots for FLEX and Muscle N Fitness Hers magazine…….I will let you know when it hits the stands very soon. Let’s get back to work shall we. St. Patricks Day.....Green Beer for you, but none for me thanks. I have decided that my next pro-fitness show will be in August taking place in Texas at the Europa Supershow. Since I just got back from the Arnold where I re-injured my hamstring I have decided to not try and push for the Houston Pro-show in July. I will keep you posted. Further, I have a total of 4 shows planned this year, some figure, some fitness, but I will keep my eyes on the first one in August and go from there. Let’s take it one show at a time.

Updated Site Welcome Message
Hi everyone,
I am so excited to announce that after a 9 year break I have been able to pull off a Pro-Card win at the Dallas NPC Nationals by winning the Tall Class –C, in Fitness. I was on stage 6 times this year and it all paid off. Competing in both figure and fitness in 2007 has been amazing and I plan to continue in both arenas as a Pro IFBB competitor. I am feeling so accomplished and proud that I was able to work through my injuries, accept change when failure was not an option and stay true to my course. I am honored and grateful for the big win in Dallas, and this is only another step towards so much more.
Happy Holidays, Be Grateful, Thankful, and Full.

NPC Fitness Nationals - Routine round (Team Bodysport)
The tall class was a tough one to judge but former fitness America Icon Tanya Merryman had the look in this round that could well make her an overall nationals champion winner. She has lines that only God can create and her years of experience show in her stage presence and overall presentation. She is light years ahead of anyone else on stage here tonight and if she can pull off the kind of routine that she is best known for with her injured hamstring then I would put some fat money on Tanya being the 2008 Fitness National overall champion. She is that good. Traci Redding is in this class and wisely she has toned things down this year, less muscle, not near as hard, and she is looking very good and should finish in the top two in this round and with her routines should finish in the top two overall in this height class. Traci has been struggling at the national level for some time and certainly deserves to be an IFBB pro. It looks like she will get that chance this weekend.
Come back tomorrow after the routines in the morning for a further update then.
Here are the callouts tonight:
Short class
1st group – Kristina Rojas, Breean Robinson, Angela Reineck, Tonya Burkhardt
2nd group – Angela Reinick, Mary Stockbridge, Babette Mulford, Stephanie Irick, Cicely Kyle
Medium Class

2nd group – Liz Ressequie, Tyler Marie Powers, Wendy Wolbert, Venus Ramos, Abby Rhoades
Tall Class

2nd group – Amanda Marinelli, Jo Marriner, Pamela Drury-Graef, Celeste Turner

NPC Fitness Nationals - Routine round (Team Bodysport)
Some years the fitness routine round at the Nationals is absolutely spectacular but with fitness being less popular than figure there are years that are perhaps best thought of as "development” years where the routines are not quite there yet and will need a little more time before they are close to being pro caliber.
This year is one of those years but we must remember that years like this are very important for fitness as it means that there are lots of new girls coming into the sport. It takes a lot longer for a fitness athlete to mature than a figure athlete as the skill level required to perform a pro level fitness routine takes a long time to develop, much longer than the body that is required at this level. What this means is that in a year or two the depth at the national level will be outstanding.
That doesn’t mean there weren’t any good prospective pro’s on stage this morning and as to be expected they were all the seasoned national level veterans.
Tanya Merryman performed a solid routine but with a badly injured hamstring that almost kept her out of the Nationals she had to tone it down significantly considering her exceptional talent and experience. It was solid, well performed and as Ironman Magazine’s Ruth Silverman commented, she handles her transitions from element to element with a rare expertise. Tanya showed lots of sparkle, crisp movements, good strength and flexibility but this was not her all time best performance. She should walk away with a pro card and when she gets on a pro stage next season when she makes her debut you can expect to see the spectacular performance we missed here but she has built a reputation for performing over the years in Fitness America and now the NPC.
Tina Durkin knocked home a grand slam with her routine and looking even sharper today in her two piece than last night she is expected to easily dominate her class and is a strong bet for the overall title. Durkin performed a flawless pro caliber routine full of energy and brilliance that left everyone cheering her on.
Traci Redding is the hometown favorite and after performing her routine was the fan favorite by the sounds of the crowd. She is every bit as strong as Durkin and executed her routine precisely and will all kinds of sexy, strong attitude. You can feel when an athlete knows she nailed it and Redding nailed it today.
Everyone here deserved to be at the National level for certain and these three all performed pro caliber routines. We will see where the axe falls tonight but most likely these three will walk away with pro cards.
ya Merryman earns her NPC Pro Card in Fitness. Results:
Tall Class
1st - Tanya Merryman
2nd - Traci Redding
3rd - Jo Marriner
4th - Violet Munday
